Dear bobby,
I am writing to sincerely apologize for missing your dinner party last night. I was so looking forward to it, but unfortunately, an unexpected situation arose at the very last minute that prevented me from attending.
Just as I was preparing to leave, my daughter came down with a sudden high fever required my immediate attention. Because everything happened so quickly, I was unable to reach out to you before the dinner began.
I feel absolutely terrible about missing the evening, especially knowing how much time and effort you put into hosting and preparing everything. I was truly excited to catch up with you and the rest of the team outside of the office, and I am so sorry for any inconvenience or empty seat my sudden absence caused.
I would love to make it up to you whenever you are free. Perhaps I can treat you to lunch next week, or we could grab a coffee after work to catch up? Let me know what day works best for your schedule.
Thank you so much for the invitation, and I appreciate your understanding.
Warm regards,
