Dear Mrs. Lawrence,

I am writing to express my apology regarding the damage caused to the electrical appliance I borrowed from you last Friday.

I sincerely apologize for breaking the electric blender. I was using the electric blender when a power outage occurred in the apartment. Immediately, I turned off the blender and after some minutes, I realized an unpleasant odor came from my kitchen. When I checked it, I found out the stench was from the blender and fumes were surrounding it.

I unplugged it and attempted to troubleshoot it, but I was unsuccessful in the process. I instantly contacted a technician to check what had gone wrong and he mentioned the issue was caused by the abrupt blackout; he further explained that motor burned out due to the power outage.

I genuinely feel remorseful about this situation and to set things right, I intend to repair the electric blender and if it is beyond repair, I’ll replace the appliance with a new one.
