Dear Mrs. Patience,
I apologize that it took a while to write but I think now is the best time to explain why I have not returned the ceramic baking bowl that I borrowed from you.
To be honest, my intention was not to damage the item and I am unhappy about what happened. I sincerely apologize for breaking the bowl. I know how much you cherish it considering its quality.
What happened is that I kept it on the table in the kitchen because I wanted to wash it later. However, my toddler accidentally slipped while playing and knocked the bowl off the table and it broke. The lid was damaged the most.
I have made inquiries to know if it could be repaired. Sadly, they said that it cannot be fixed because the lid is badly affected so I have ordered a new one which will be arriving by Saturday. I will come over to your house once I pick up the item.
Again, I am so sorry for the delay in telling you. I hope you can forgive me.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah
