Dear Grandmother,
I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to check in and see how you were doing.
I’m so sorry that I haven’t been able to visit you as much this past month. I had also been meaning to call you and catch up, but I could never seem to find the time.
I’m not sure if my mother has told you, but I was recently offered a promotion at work. I had been vying for this promotion for quite some time, so I was ecstatic when my boss finally made the offer last month. As a consequence of this, I’ve been traveling during the weekends this month and using my free time to brush up on my reading for the position.
However, things are finally starting to settle down, and I would love to visit you in a few weeks. Perhaps we could see a theatre show at the end of the month, or have dinner at the new Chinese restaurant you’ve been wanting to try.
I’ll call you soon to make official plans!
Love,
Beth
