Dear Sir/madam
I’m writing this letter to inform you above the incident that caused me to miss my flight from Chennai to Canada due to the chaos cause by the airport authority.
On June 5th, I was flying from Cochin to Vancouver through Chennai and I was having a layover at Chennai for 5 hours. So once I reach at Chennai airport, I waited for more than 45 minutes near the luggae belt to collect my things but still after a long wait I coul not find any of my bags so I finally decided to report it to the authorities. Unfortunately the people who were in charge of the day could not understand the seriousness of my situation and had just asked me to claim my luggage insuarance. That was really shocking for me because they are asking me to travel to a different country without my luggage which is packed up with my clothes, medicines, foods and textbooks. You can imagine as a new international traveller how stressfull this situation feels to be.
Later, I understand waiting at the airport will only waste my time so i decided to continue my travel but upon reaching Canada I struggle a lot without having my clothes, books, medicines etc. From each and everything I was forced to buy and that had cost me a lot of my savings. Still I’m struggling to manage it. The most valuable missing item was my specially designed ethnic wears from India, which I can not buy anywhere from Canada becuase it is available only in my hometown. So in total this negligence from the authority had cause me mental and financial damage.
As a compensation, I would like the airline to offer a business class one-side travel trip to India in near future with a validity of 1 year along with my baggage claim amount. If I’m getting my requested compensation, I hope I can come back to India and take my whole favorite things once again back to canada.
I request you to look into my concern as soon as possible and take action appropriately.
Yours faithfully
jithin
