overall tnt showed an increasing trend during the period and became the leading company by the end. In contrast, federal express experienced several changes, reaching its highest point in 1940 before remaining relatively stable.

in 1920, federal express delivered about 15,000 parcels, while tnt delivered only around 5,500. the number of parcels delivered by federal express increased to a peak of approximately 24,000 in 1940. however, it then fell sharply to about 12,500 in 1950 and stayed at around 12,000 in 1960. After that, the figure rose again to nearly 18,500 in 1980 before ending the period at around 18,000.

by comparison, tnt started with the lowest number of parcels. Its figure increased gradually from about 5,500 in 1920 to around 11,500 in 1960. although there was a slight drop in 1970, the number rose dramatically between 1980 and 1990, reaching approximately 22,000. it continued to increase and finished at about 24,500 in 2000, which was higher than federal express.
