In 1920, Federal Express delivered approximately 15,000 parcels, and this figure increased slightly to around 17,500 in 1930. Over the following decade, the number of deliveries rose sharply, reaching a peak of about 24,000 parcels in 1940. However, this was followed by a significant decline, with deliveries falling to approximately 13,000 by 1950. The figure then decreased slightly to around 12,000 in 1960 before rising steadily to nearly 17,000 in 1970. After a further small increase to about 18,000 in 1980, the number of parcels delivered by Federal Express remained relatively stable until 2000.
In contrast, TNT Mail Services began with a much lower figure of about 5,000 parcels in 1920. The number increased gradually over the next few decades, reaching around 8,000 in 1940 and then rising more noticeably to approximately 12,000 in 1950. Although there was a slight decline to about 10,000 in 1960, deliveries recovered and reached around 10,500 in 1970. A dramatic increase occurred between 1970 and 1980, when the figure more than doubled to roughly 22,000 parcels. After that, TNT Mail Services continued to grow steadily, reaching approximately 25,000 deliveries in 2000.
