The diagram provides the sequential stages involved in the production of five distinct tea types.
Overall, the procedure commences by plucking tea leaves and culminates with oven drying for all the five types. Intermediates steps are not same for each type.
Initially, the leaves are plucked and the process is called plucking, which is a crucial preliminary step. Following this, the step of withering takes charge, ensuring leaves are fully prepared fo the subsequent stages of production. This leaves are then subjected to either rolling or crushing or none.
Once above steps are completed, differnt intensity fermentation is done which is essential for achieving various kind of teas. Some leaves are slightly fermented, while some are fully fermented giving different characteristics to distinct types. Finally, this leaves are oven dried, marking the end of the production process. The production of specific tea type involves ommition or inclusion of different stages that are mentioned above, although certain steps such as plucking, withering, and oven drying are common. White tea manufacturing involves just three common steps, but green tea involves steaming and rolling.
