The diagram illustrates the process of how olive oil is produced from fresh olives.
Overall, it is clear that process consists of seven main steps, starting with harvesting olives and ending with the storage and sale of the final product. This process uses both mechanical processing as well as separation techniques.
First, ripe olives are picked up from trees, after they are transported to a processing plan, where they are washed throughly to remove dirt and leaves.
Next, clean olives are crushed into a paste using a grinder. This paste is then spread onto flat discs and stacked. Following this, stacked discs are pressed to exrtact a mixture of oil and water.
In the subsequent stage, the liquid is sepreated, by machine, in order to distinguish olive oil from water. Finally pure olive oil is stored into containers and prepared for storage and sale.
