Overall, Brisbane generally experiences higher maximum and minimum temperatures than Canberra. Additionally, the daily temperature trends in the two cities are similar, while the tendency of monthly rainfall periods witnesses the opposite.

In terms of the weather in a day, the hottest average of Brisbane peaks at 30 degrees in February, followed by that of Canberra at 27 degrees in December. The lowest temperatures recorded in Brisbane reach 10 degrees in July and August while those of Canberra can bottom at only one degree between June and July.
