The diagram depicts the manufacturing of ethanol fuel from the raw material corn.
Overall, the production of ethanol fuel is a 9-step process. It begins by the storing corn and ends when with the transportation of ethanol fuel for different uses.
The process begins when the collected corn is stored in storage tanks followed by the milling of corn where it is crushed and grind in a mill. After this stage the processed corn is cooked and simultaneously water is added to it.It takes four hours to cook the processed material.
The next stage is fermentation where the cooked material is fermented for 2 days. Fermentation produces two products the liquid ethanol and the solid by-product. Soon after this stage, the ethanol is purified which is a five hours process. Once this stage is completed the ethanol fuel which is the required product is stored and finally transported by large tankers for the commercial use.
