The pie charts illustrate the distribution of time working adults spent on six different things—namely; other interests or playing sports, working, going out, travel to work, sleeping, and relaxing at home in 1958 and 2008.
Overall, the majority distribution of six different things was working which has a nealy third of all activities in 1958, but then working experienced modest growth in 2008 to 42 percent amoung six activities. In general, the lowest activity percentage of activity was travel to work in 2008. However, going out with friends or family showed significant a decline from 19 percent in 1958 to 6 percent in 2008.
As the graph shows, other activities, such as playing sports saw little improvement from 6 percent in 1958 to 8 percent in 2008. Similarly, relaxing at home showed modest growth, it started from 8 percent in 1958 and ended with 13 percent in 2008. Although, travel to work experienced considerable growth in 50 years from 2 percent to 8 percent.
In contrast, activity of sleeping experienced noticeable a decrease from 32 percent in 1958 to 25 percent in 2008.
