The table depicts the underground systems in six selected nations in four different aspects namely lines, total length, annual journeys and cost of single ticket.
Overall, New York City Subway had the highest number of lines and total length, while the opposite was true for London Tube in the volume of lines as well as Paris Metro in the total length. It is also evident that subway in Beijing owned the largest annual jorneys, while the most expensive price for single ticket was seen in railway system in London.
Regarding to the lines and the total length, according to the statistics, 24 lines was recorded in metro system in New York, which two times, more or less than other categories, with the exception of Beijing Subway and Paris Metro, which owned 19 lines and 16 lines, respectively. Moreover, the table showed that the total length in subway system in New York was 659 miles, which about two times more than Beijing Subway as well as triple than London Tube, while the total lenth in remaining categories accounted for under 200 miles.
Turning to other factors, while 3,6 billion journeys per year was presented in the railway system in Beijing which 0,5 billion higher than that in New York, the others constituted below 2 billion. Finally, while $7.30 was the highest price of ticket in London Tube, other cities showed the marginal figures, which were below$2, with the exception for railway system in New York and Paris, which was $2.5 and $2.3, in order.
