The picture represents the procedure of producing a biofuel named ethanol.
Overall, it takes eight steps to produce ethanol. The process starts with the energy absorption by trees and it undergoes different stages of processing to produce the end result which is ethanol and at last the same steps are recycled.
To begin, the production process starts with the energy absorption from sunlight and carbon dioxide, which helps the plants and trees grow. Then, these plants and trees are harvested with the help of machines. Further, the collected materials undergo a Pre-processing to break it down to cellulose. This cellulose then proceeds to chemical processing, where sugars are extracted.
In the final stages, microbes are added to sugars, which produce the final output called Ethanol. Once ethanol is ready, it is used in various transport modes, such as cars, trucks, and airplanes. These vehicles release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which re-enters the cycle by feeding the plants used in future ethanol production, thus sustaining the process.
