The line graph compares the proportion of spending on categories such as Food, Leisure, Clothing, Transport and Energy in Turkey between 1960 and 2000.
It was clear that most kinds of categories showed a downward trend over the period, except for Clothing. In addition, at the end of the period, the expenditure for Clothing appeared to dominate, while Energy followed an opposite pattern.
According to the line graph, the percentage of spending on Food showed a significant decline, commencing with around 35%, then steadily dropping to about 30% in 1980 before accounting for well under 20% in 2000. By Contrast, Clothing recorded a steady pace during the period. It started with solely 10%, yet it gradually rose to approximately 15% in 1980, and reached its peak at nearly 20%, ranked first by the end of the period.
The expenditue for leisure activities initially occupied 20% before decreasing to below 20% in 1980, and culminated in about 15% in 2000, exhibiting a slight drop. Energy followed a similar trend, beginning at 5%, then declining to around 4,6% in 1980 prior to ending at nearly 0,3%. Transport provided a relative decease ove the period. The percentage of spending took up 10% at first, continued to descend slightly to under 10%, and suddenly deceased to below 5% in 2000.
