The two plans show the different ground floors of a library in 2001 and in 2009, after redevelopment. The floor remains the same, but the position of major objects has changed.
Overall, in the new layout there are more categories of books or films than in 2001; in fact, the space inside the library is more divided.
In particular, in the same space where there was previously the category of Self-help and History (to the left after the entrance), now there are: History, Fiction, Self-help, Kitchen, Economics and Law (in walking order). This means that in the library in 2009 the History category was reduced, and the Self-help and even the Fiction sections were decreased. In 2001, the Fiction category was at the end of the room.
Additionally, in front of the entrance the librarian’s desk remained, and to the right the stairs also remained. In 2009, in the center of the room, there are still tables (like in 2001), but the arrangement is different. Still in the center, after the tables, there is a new area for children, and after, at the end of the room there is a tables area. Before (in 2001), there was a Fiction area.
Finally, on the right of the entrance, the part that in 2001 was called Newspapers, in 2009 is called Films and DVDs, and near this, there is a small area for Computers.
