The two maps illustrate the changes in the town of Someville from 1986 to the present day.
Overall, the town of Someville has changed a lot over time . Green spaces and farmland were replaced by houses, shops, and public buildings. These changes show clear development and urban growth.
In 1985, there was a large farmland area located to the east of the main road, and another farmland could be seen in the southern part of the town. In the present day, both of these areas have been turned into new housing developments. In addition, the group of trees that was in the southwest part of Someville was cut down, and this space was also used for building more houses.
The park and the trees that were on the west side of the main road in 1985 have been removed and replaced by a line of shops. On the east side of the road, where there used to be farmland, a post office and a church have been built. The stadium and the school, which are in the northwest part of the town, have stayed the same and have not been changed.
