The pie charts illustrate the distribution of weekly working hours in three groups of workers, namely employees, owners/managers, and the total workforce in Australia in 2001.
It can be easily seen from the graph that the percentage of long-hour workers was prominent in owners/managers and the total workforce, while that of part-time workers was likely to be in employees.
Regarding the total workforce, people working overtime were common, proven by the percentage of 40. Next comes the proportion of part-timers, which accounted for 33%, followed closely by 27% of people who worked full-time.
In terms of owners/managers, the majority of workers (67%) spent over 41 hours per week at work. While full-timers accounted for 19%, part-timers registered the smallest segment at 14%.
For employees, the percentage of people working part-time was 38%. While the figure for people who worked over 41 hours per week was a third, the least ofemployees worked 35-40 hours per week
