The pie charts depict the percentages of different entertaining activities (talking with family, talking with friends, eating out, watching TV, playing computer games, and other) among European adults in two years (1985 and 1995).
Overall, in both years, watching TV was the major activity, in which people spent their free time on, while other activities’ proportion remained the lowest. In addition, playing computer games had the second highest percentage in 1995, despite its absence in the first year.
European adults preferred watching TV in the two years other than any activity, by approximately 30%. On the other hand, playing computer games occurred in the second year with a percentage of 27%. Additionally, people who spent time talking with friends increased by 5% (from 21% to 26%).
Eating out came second, after watching TV in 1985, accounting for 23%. Furthermore, 18% of people chose talking to family as their leisure activity. In contrast, family talking, eating out, and other activities decreased over these ten years to 7%, 8%, and 2%, respectively.
