The diagram above illustrates the changes that happened in the village of Meadowside and Fonton, a neighboring town, since the year 1962.
Overall, Meadowside has developed significantly from a small village into a suburban area with more facilities, while Fonton has experienced fewer changes, mainly related to transport and commercial development.
In 1962, Meadowside was a small village with very limited development, surrounded by open land. At that time, Fonton already had a railway line running through it, but there were no major facilities shown in either area.
By 1985, noticeable development had occurred in Meadowside. A housing estate and a leisure complex were built, along with a superstore to the south of the village. In addition, a main road was constructed, improving connections between Meadowside and Fonton.
At present, Meadowside has expanded further and is now referred to as Meadowside suburbs. New developments include a hotel and a station near Fonton, as well as a business park in the southern area. While Fonton itself remains largely unchanged, the area has become more accessible and commercially developed due to these additions.
