I am writing to bring to your attention an incident that occurred in your supermarket under your management.
My name is Sarina Shrestha, a resident at 126 Dunlop Street, aged 24, and employed as a social worker at DeafBlind Ontario Services.
On February 14th, my husband and I were in the supermarket to celebrate Valentine’s Day when I experienced a minor accident. While in the washroom on the second floor near the Japanese restaurant, I slipped and sprained my ankle due to the wet floor that had been recently mopped. Regrettably, there were no caution signs or notices indicating the slippery floor conditions. With no employees present to assist, I had to contact my husband for help and seek first aid at the nearest clinic.
I recognize that mistakes can happen, but such accidents could have severe consequences, especially for the elderly. The absence of warning signs and employee negligence are concerning. To prevent similar incidents in the future, I recommend conducting regular safety inspections, providing adequate training on first aid, and emphasizing the importance of precautionary measures to all staff members.
