Hi Benny,

I hope everything is going great for you. I’m really sorry that I can’t attend your birthday party. However, I really appreciate you inviting me to your birthday party.

As you know me well, I have been working for an international company for several years now. That’s why, I recently got a promotion at work and I have to travel on business trips from time to time. Unfortunately, I will be in London on your birthday and I can’t refuse this important responsibility as I have been waiting for this position for a long time.

Let’s meet up after two weeks if you don’t mind, and I will book a table at your favorite restaurant and bring you a gift from London. I know you have never been to London.

I look forward to your respond and don’t forget to send pictures from the party to my email.
