While some argue that reading historical books will be a thing of the past in the coming decades, I hold a strong positive opinion about the importance of historical books.
First and foremost, despite increasing access to watch various ancient times dramas on front of screens, this way is not able to promote reliable information. For instance, changing timelines, adding fictional figures and elements make movies unreliable. Additionally, sometimes dramas provide not age-appropriate moments in order to add extra unreal emotions to humans cognition, and what is more, film directors dramatize retro events to make them more exciting. Therefore, opting for historical books are regarded as a flexible way to learn about days of old.
Secondly, while TV dramas can be entertaining, they will not fully replace historical books. Books are full of informative facts, colorful maps, ancient letters, and photos, which make them valuable. Apart from fostering critical thinking, reading books enhances readers understanding ability and essential problem-solving skills. One incredible point is that, were it not for learning past events from books, movie makers could not release successful films.
To sum up, I strongly believe that reading books will maintain its popularity for long periods among people who want to improve their understanding of history.
