Band 4+: A country should spend money on skills training or vocational training for practical work, rather than on university education. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

There is an relevant obstacle if it is more financially proficient for the government to allocate higher amount of money on professional training rather than higher education.Regarding the current employees’ requirement and also the scientific position of the world now I partly agree with the opinion that vocational training is more necessary and is in the need of more financial resources from the budget.

To start with, becoming a specialist in a specific practical area indeed does not require more than practical knowledge.Recent labour market is a proof to it. Most of the times getting a degree is just a side effect of the universal trend which is stuck to by majority nowadays. In a recent survey taken from a range of universities in Europe, it got clear than the majority of the future alumni are not going to dedicate their life for the field they are now studying.Roughly 65 percent of all students are intending to change their career goals. As a result, high investment into universities will not guarantee neither specialists nor the working places for graduates.

Nevertheless, fully neglecting the educational institutions contribution is also a mistake.Firstly,it is worth remembering that we are currently living in a pacing world. Therefore, institutions are necessary for pioneering discoveries and horizon expanding news which will change our world further.

In conclusion,I do agree that vocational education needs to be sponsored more, however universities also carry weight.
