Band 5+: A growing number of young people are choosing to live in large urban centers rather than staying in their rural hometowns, leading to the decline of countryside communities. What are the causes of this migration and what measures can be taken to encourage people to stay in rural areas?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, there has been a controversial phenomenon concerning rural residents migrating to urban areas. During this phenomenon, it brings out numerous negative consequences for rural communities, such as lacking labours in the agricultural industry. In the following essay, some reasons are going to be examined, and some measures are going to be introduced to avoid these drawbacks.

Regarding people moving to urban areas, the main reason is that, urban areas have more jobs opportunities when compared to their hometown. The urban areas have various categories of careers, yet in the rural areas there less less catergories, agricultural jobs is the main category in the rural areas. For this reason people may find the jobs aligned to their interested, therefore the jobs are not limited in the farm.

As this reason it may lead some negative issues to the countryside, the largest defect is lacking agricultural labours. The reason is that, if citizens migrating to the urban side, it may lead less residents to do farming in the rural areas. Furthermore, when there are less society working in the farm, the harvest will be diminished, in this cases it will enable negative consequence to the society.

From the authority perspective, I believe there are some policy that the government can establish to reduce the drawback, such as, promoting machines in farming. The government can give the farmers and agricultural enterprises subsidies, to enable them to afford buy machinery to replace the labour, to diminish the needs of the labour.

To conclude, it is indisputable that people migrating to urban side there have negative consequences. Yet, from my personal perspective, I believe that the authority should establish some measures to diminish the defect to the society.
