Nowadays, a huge amount of money is spent for exploring oil. Many people argue that world’s oil resources will run out in the near future, it would be more useful to spend the money on supporting the development of renewable energy as new sources of power such as wind, hydro, and solar. I strongly agree that the advancment of technology in developing such energy requires a lot of financial support, which will be more beneficial for our lives rather than rely on the non-renewable energy sector.
First and foremost, conducting activities to look for non-renewable energy such as coal mining and oil drilling cost a lot of expense and demand human’s risk while conducting research on green energy would be cheaper and less dangerous for engineers. For example, oil exploration mainly conducted in diverse area under the sea, despite the use of advanced technology and expensive safety tools, we still can not avoid unexpected challenge that could risk human being. Meanwhile, activity to search for green energy is very low risk cause the sources of power is revolving around us, energy that we use naturally in daily basis such as water, sun, and wind.
On the other hand, many environmentalist and green campaign always raise a concern regarding oil production that casually destruct environment and marked as one of the highest contributor to climate change. For example, waste production resulted from mining activities are mostly difficult to be recycled and contain a hazardous element. Companies tend to bury the waste underground or throw it to the ocean that will kill the marine life. Hence, the use of clean energy would decrease energy waste since the power is reusable.
In conclusion, the use of money on oil’s exploration is considered useless and ineffective due to various reasons including the big opportunity on renewable energy development and mitigating the increase of climate change by reducing the mass energy-waste production. Thus, the use of alternative energy seems to be worthwhile in many aspect of human life.
