In the recent years,an increased ratio of scientific research has been carried out by the private organizations instead of government instituitions.While this trend offer benefits due to efficiency and innovation.I believe that its drawbacks are more significant,particularly concerning ethical standard and public interest.
One of the main benefit of private business conducting research is the innovation and efficiency they bring.Business are often driven by the competition,which force them to develop new technologies work and than products faster.For example,rapid advancement of medical treatment and technology has been due to the private investment.Moreover private funding has been reduce the financial burden onto the government,and allowing public funds to be used for the other social prospects such as healthcare and education.
On the other hand,the drawbacks of this trend was quite serious.Private companies are primarily profit gained ,which means their research are often guided by the commercial interest rather than the public interest.As a result the lack of transparency and not holding the scientific data if it dosenot serves the company goals.Furthermore,without strict government, there is a higher risk of unethical activities of public interest such as environmental damages and other experiments which are effected arround the public.
In conclusion, although private companies increased their scientific progress and bring financial relief to the government.However,it would show more risk in ethics, trasparency and some environmental demage make this situation more harmful than beneficial.In my opinion,I believe that we need a balance approach where both private and public sectors shared responsibilities in balancing condition.This scheme would be more beneficial to make prosperity.
