In today’s advance world, the worth of people tends to be judged according to social status and material possessions. However, people who have old-fashioned thoughts still think that honor, kindness and trust are still important foundations. This essay will explore both perspectives with relevant examples before presenting my own opinion.
On one hand, people’s judgement often comes from media exposures. In this world that is entirely connected to internet, it seems people have no boundaries to value about something. At the moment, many celebrities present themselves as symbols of wealth and popularity, young people claim these acts as the most suitable life conditions. The notable example come from a man named MrBeast, he is the most well-known youtuber in the world, he takes million of dollars from YouTube and gives them to his subscribers., viewers see this as something a respectable person would do.
Conversely, older generations value people based on different criteria. They initiate connections with respect and good attitude. Senior claim they have lived longer than others, building trusts year by year is the only way to know the real self of people. The current example can be collected with career employees. They start from the lowest position, such as intern, and rise to head in years. This condition can be achieved through building trus over time, not with material things.
In my opinion, people must respect all conditions. Wealth, fame, and ownerships should be viewed as results of character and actions, not the sole measures of a person’s worth. Adolescents must learn from seniors what is best for them in social life, whilst grown-ups must adapt to the fast-paced technology.
