It is believed that poor infrastructure prevents poor countries from developing and getting modernized. Some individuals say that foreign aid should be utilized to fix this on primary basis. I partly agree with this statement, though a developed framework is indeed but other areas such as education and governance demand attention too.
On the one hand, a modern infrastructure including developed roads, efficient electricity system, clean water system, and telecommunication is essential for the development of countries. The countries need wide and smooth roads for timely transportation, which encourages and helps farmers to travel from rural areas to urban areas on daily basis for improved living conditions and for opportunity to sale their products. Hospitals and schools need developed infrastructure for providing essential facilities. The country, which is failing in improving its infrastructure cannot encourage foreign investments, electricity shortage is an example.
On the other hand, a modern and progressed country cannot move solely based on its infrastructure, when its people are un-educated and do lack in essential and basic skills. Furthermore, weak governance can lead to corruption, misallocation of foreign aid, ultimately results in failure of the needed projects.
To conclude, developed infrastructure is vital for modernization, tourist attraction, which will lead to human capitalism. But, the use of foreign aid on education and governance is much needed for empowering individuals and nation development.
