By the influence of advertising people purchase items they do not need. While it leads us to unreasonable purchases, I believe this practice have beneficial sides.
On the one hand, it is true that ads manipulate our minds by playing with people’s emotions. This means ads can show you your hobbies activities and other and as a result, make you confident that you should buy the item that they conduct. For example, perfume commercials rarely explain the scent itself, but instead show glamorous lifestlyles, romance, or power, making people that buying the perfume will make them more attractive or successful. Attractive ads, discounts and slogans encourage people to buy unessential items. For example, when you spill coffee on your shirt, TV ads often immediately promote a powerful stain remover, making you feel you need to buy it right away, even though regular detergent might work just as well.
On the other hand, ads inform people about new products, services, and innovations. In this sense, people will be aware of any news products and facilities, which helps them to make a good choice when they are buying something new and unfamiliar product. For instance, smartphone companies use ads to showcase features like advanced cameras or AI tools, which informs customers about the latest technology before they make a choice. In fact, ads also help people save money by informing them about discounts on products. For example, online ads often notify shoppers about seasonal sales like “Black Friday”, where they can purchase electronics and clothing at much lower prices.
Consequently, although advertising can sometimes push people toward unnecessary purchases, it also plays a vital role in informing consumers and helping them make better choices. I believe advertising has both positive and negative sides, and its impact should be seen as a mixed one rather than entirely good or bad.
