Band 7+: Aircraft use more fuel than cars and produce more pollution. Some people suggest the non-essential use of aircraft, like international travel, should be discouraged. Do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Using airways can damage the climate more than other means of transport and consumes more fuel. Therefore, it is suggested that using airways only for important flights may help reduce these problems. I totally disagree with this statement because most tourists around the world depend on airplanes for travel, and cars or trains can also pollute the air as much as aircraft if people tend to travel abroad by these vehicles.

Tourism is very important for many countries because it helps their economy. Airplanes are the fastest and easiest way for tourists to travel to other countries. If we stop using airplanes for tourism, many countries will lose money. Hotels, restaurants, and travel services depend on tourists. Without airplanes, fewer people would visit, and this would hurt these businesses.

Cars and trains also cause pollution. If people stop using airplanes and travel long distances by car or bus, they will still burn fuel and harm the environment. For example, cars also produce harmful gases like carbon dioxide. Instead of stopping air travel, we should try to make airplanes more eco-friendly, like using better fuels and technology.

In conclusion, while airplanes do consume more fuel and cause more pollution, discouraging air travel is not the best solution. Tourism and international travel would suffer greatly, and pollution from other vehicles would not be significantly reduced. It is better to focus on improving aviation technology to make air travel more environmentally friendly.
