There is an issue about criminals getting education and rehabilitation classes during the period of being in prison. I personally believe that its benefits clearly overweight the drawbacks, however there are some points we should consider.
To commence with, I opine that their level of crime should be considered in order to give them an education, however, I believe, rehabilitation programs, which are based on humanity values and moral behavior, must be provided to all of them. Once their data is released, they could use what they have learned and make their earnings from it. Furthermore, by getting literacy classes or counseling, they could look back on their problems and have right decisions to copy with them. In many cases, people go on terrific behavior because of lack of knowledge and not knowing what to do. In other words, they should understand reasons what made them to do so and try to work on them. Moreover, it could be physiological trauma that pushed them to do crimes. Once they gain knowledge on how to deal with it, they may not repeat it, which is very crucial for the society. Nevertheless, we cannot neglect some disadvantages that are being an obstacle in order to achieve this. I guess one of the main reasons is financial challenges of government. I believe, it would be fair if they choose to educate by criminals’ behavior. Because eventually, if the person himself do not want to learn new things, there is no point of forcing him to do so. And in addition, many people opine that inmates do not deserve this kind of treatment. However, if prisoners are willing to get education, and if it is affordable to government, then it would have better outcome for both society and inmates.
To sum up, I believe if it is possible, then prisoners may have second chances, but if and only if, they pass their rehabilitation courses well.
