In our modern world, financial support for people is implemented in many developed countries. At the first glance, this practice seems completely unreasonable, regarding those who abuse the system and receive money for doing nothing. However, welfare payments are invaluable for providing equal opportunities to people.
One popular notion says that unemployed individuals, who live at the expense of the government, only drag the economic situation down. It may be true because money that was allocated to indolent people could fund many educational or recycling projects instead, which are more beneficial for society. Moreover, as more and more people rely on government support, they are becoming a heavy burden on the country because they only take resources from it and do not make any contributions.
From the opposite angle, these funds are significantly important. Many opponents of social welfare payments overlook the fact that they are provided to a broader group of the population, including pensioners, the disabled, and deprived individuals. For this reason, authorities treat all citizens equally and provide opportunities to less successful or economically disadvantaged layers of the population. In case of people who are not eager to work, they receive very limited resources, which allow them to have only a frugal lifestyle with strict regulations, so the number of these people is not substantial.
To sum up, in spite of insignificant number of system abusers, the support of deprived individuals is essential because different human beings have varying financial and health conditions.
