Some members of our society strongly argue that undertaking cosmetic surgeries has become common for many nations. While I accept that having a plastic operation can have some main benefits, I believe that these profits are entirely outweighed by the downsides.
Many individuals think that having a plastic operation cannot be very disastrous, as they heard from inexperienced surgeons in the video clips on YouTube. However, such operations can be held without using chemical and artificial substances involving gunpowder, special water, and others. Moreover, during the operation, surgeons have to insert artificial hormones into the patient’s body part in order to replace natural ones to look better as such, these hormones will hurt your natural tissue and decrease the level of your physical activeness. As cosmetic surgery mostly based on changing the face, crucial organs including nose, ears, eyes, and mouth have a chance to be damaged. For instance, Wikipedia’s report said, “Almost 20-30 million people are undertaking cosmetic surgeries annually, and about 2-6 percent of people were individuals who were died due to the wrong doing or risk. Also, 57-63 percent are people who have defects on their reconstructed body part, even after an operation.” Absolutely, these defects are caused by wrong doing with various chemicals. Furthermore, owing to the high prices, only wealthy people can afford to this operation, and they can repeat this procedure as much as they want if they don’t feel satisfied with their appearance. Genuinely, having these procedures requires much money to be held and can impose a dramatic financial burden on patients. In other words, apart from high cost and risk, undertaking such operations can also lead to financial stress. As a result, they may get damaged in some cases or not, and if they want to take some beneficial medical treatments, they might have to spend massive sums of money. Several experienced experts from the university of Harvard emphasized a report that “We don’t care about the Wikipedia’s report but we can say that it can be very dangerous as no one guarantees patient’s survival”. Meaning that human beings must stop undertaking plastic procedures which can keep patient’s mental and physical well-being in a good level.
On the other hand, having plastic operations can have a compelling benefits and changes to a patient’s appearance. According to Wikipedia’s another report, “About 94-98% of those who do so can complete operations with good results and success.” And almost all of those people can feel a great sense of being more confident and increased self-esteem because of good results. As for to the report of UN experts, ” About 37-43% of people who have completed a surgery without any defects can have more increased self-esteem about their reconstructed body parts.” Secondly, after having an operation successfully, patients can get a newly constructed body part, and it improves social well-being as well. For example, if one patient is very shy he/she will learn how to manage their emotions more carefully than ever after an operation due to their new appearance.
In conclusion, it seems almost impossible for human beings to stop undertaking such operations, as more people are willing to actualize them. In my opinion, I still believe that the benefits of having cosmetic operations are completely outweighed by the drawbacks. Furthermore, no one will ensure your survival.
