Nowadays, more and more young Vietnamese people celebrate world festivals such as Christmas or Halloween. In my opinion, this trend has both positive and negative impacts on the young Vietnamese.
Firstly, one of the main positive effects of this trend is the encouragement of extracurricular activities. Celebrating global festival provides opportunities to young people for creative expression fostering a sense of teamwork and skill development among young individuals. Besides, exposure to different cultures during global festival help the young learn about the world. This cultural exchange fosters understanding and building a more interconnected global community.
However, there is a concern that such global celebrations may lead to the loss of cultural identity among the youth. Young people may ignore local festival and pay more attention to festivals around the world. As a result, the disappearance of valuable traditions I think Vietnamese youth should balance between preserving national culture and cultural acceptance and exchange. Adopting foreign cultures should not come at the cost of abandoning rich traditions. has an effect on the next generation.
All things considered, I think Vietnamese youth need to strike a balance between in celebrating both local festival and world festival. Therefore, cultural exchange and acceptance need to be balanced with the conservation of national culture.
