These days, there are a number of tertiary courses require students to work for a period at companies or organizations with no wage, which is considered as part of their programs. In this essay, I would present both pros and cons of this trend.
There are many benefits associated with forcing students to do unpaid job at companies or organizations. Regarding these programs’ perspective, it is undeniable that young workforce is not affordable, very expensive instead. Therefore, by letting their students undertake unpaid work, the funds of these programs may surge, thanks to the firms, which pay for the free, extra labor force. Regarding students’ advantages, by having worked for an organization before, these students can gain a huge amount of experience, which plays a pivotal role in a person’s success. Additionally, it is extremely risky for the students, who do not have a certain intention in the future, graduate. Fortunately, because they have spent a certain amount of time working at a company, they can officially apply for a job there.
However, students can face with some problems if they are required to undertake unpaid job for a period. In some companies, students can be assigned some types of tasks which are not their strength, this can prohibit them from performing optimally. As a result, these students may not graduate their courses, eventually loose their directions in the future. Moreover, in this day and age, due to the international inflation, necessities or some some basic bills such as water bills and electricity bills, is getting more and more expensive. Therefore, working for organizations with no salaries can severely damage the students’ financial status, this can make them feel burdensome whenever they are at work, leading to uncertain performance.
In conclusion, although this trend can be beneficial to some organizations or course providers, students is mainly influenced by its drawbacks that can affect their mentality, finance as well as their future
