Band 6+: Around the world many adults are working from home, and more children are begining to study from home because technology has become cheaper and more accessible. Do you think it is possitive or negative development?

In today’s fast-paced world, technology paves the way for convenience in both occupational and academic fields. While this phenomenon may have certain diverse implications, I am convinced that it predominantly contributes positively to people’s professional and educational life.

To begin, working and studying from a distance can lead to some detrimental consequences in individuals’ lives. Firstly, when people work remotely, they are not able to interact with people who are always eager to explore new concepts and initiatives inspire one another as this leads to limitation in personal development. Empirical evidence shows that most supervisors believe the most important projects for teamwork which can create greater potential to accomplishing more achievement by this project Moreover, while using technologies such as computers, smartphones, people have to sit for maintain focus and concentration. Therefore most people encounter some problems which are related to health due to lack of movement. Furthermore, prolonged use of phones can create opportunity to addiction in technology among children.

On the other hand, embracing technological advancements can open doors to numerous opportunities. First and foremost, by technology which is full of various information, people have the opportunity to use a rich array of knowledge from online platforms when they work on any projects and doing homework. For example, Google and contemprory tool like ChatGPT have more access to information all over the world. Second benefit of technology is enhancing people’s digital literacy while using different technological devices and platforms. Finally, working and studying from home do not demand any financial barriers like transportation and high-priced tuition fees and it will be cost-effective.

To conclude, even while it is acknowledged that learning and working from a distance may entail a certain negative consequences, these disadvantages outweighed by vast range of positive sides such as cost-effectiveness, accessibility to wide range of knowledge, enriching digital literacy.
