Many people believe that both genders should help each other to do chores equally, due to their full-time jobs. In my opinion, I totally agree with this statement, and there are plenty of reasons why I strongly agree with it.
Firstly, women in the past in comparison with modern women have a significant difference. In the past, it was a social norm that women’s responsibilities were taking care of the family and doing household chores, while men were the breadwinner and supporting the family financially. However, that norm no longer aligns with modern societal values, nowadays, women have a lot of opportunities to get a job, thus they can also become the breadwinner of the family. Consequently, women and men are equal in doing household chores, since they both have to earn a living.
Secondly, women and men share responsibility in doing chores contributes to the promotion of gender equality. Sharing chores equally is an act of caring and love, because it expresses sympathy to the others, and it is becoming a new social norm in our world. For instance, in some advertisements, they depict the image of a man, who is sharing houseworks with his female partner, so we can see that people in today’s world are more aware of the equality between women and men. A woman can do what a man can and vice versa, including doing chores.
In conclusion, I think that women and men should share household chores to balance their workload. Moreover, it can boost promote gender equality in society.
