People are debating whether all employees in the company, including the top-level executives, should have the same salary. I totally disagree with this statement because money should be linked with the expirience and expertise of the person and the pressure he is handling with high stakes involved.
Firstly, most companies select their C-level executives based on the years of experience in their related field. Moreover, they acquire specific skill sets to lead the companies to it’s ambitions with their proven record. All previous years of hard work and expertise is the main reason to deserve more money. For example, most of multinationals CEO’s have taken their education from the elite universities, gained more than 15 years of expierience in their respective fields, showed their successful career path that eventually led them to become high paid CEO’s in the world.
Secondly, as the employee vertically grow in the hierarchy of the organisations, he is more involved in critical buisness decisions, his performance is directly linked with the company’s goal and staff achivements. This all creates a lot of day to day pressure on the executive along with high Job stakes, and that should definitely be highly rewarded in comparison with normal employees of the company. For instance, as per Business Recorder article, average tenure for the CEO in organisation is 5 years, and this position is considered to be most high risk job among all.
In Conclusion, I completely disagree with the concept of same salaries for all employess in the organization. The pay scale should be based on the expierience and expertiese attain by the employess and pressure and job uncertanity associated with that position.
