It is argued that ordinary employees should get equal wages as supervisors and CEOs do in their firm. I completely disagree with this statement since CEOs and executives carry more work and responsibility, moreover they got a better understanding of their company system, therefore they should get bigger salary than the typical employees.
The decisions that company managers make have a much greater impact on the business, and the number of such tasks exceeds the number of tasks assigned to average workers, thus the bigger and more important your job, the higher your salary should be. While regular employees perform tasks that only execute a small part of the entire business, the failure of which would not lead to significant changes, managers monitor the overall work of all areas and if they do not perform some part of their work, this could lead to the complete collapse of the company. The work of standard workers is specialized in a specific part of the business, which makes their duties stable, requiring only certain skills, while managers need to perform various tasks and manage to monitor the entire work of the company, which also increases their workload. For instance, if a factory worker makes a mistake, only one product may be damaged, whereas if a manager makes a poor strategic decision, hundreds of jobs could be lost.
Senior managers have a comprehensive understanding of how the entire organisation operates and are responsible for coordinating all departments, which justifies higher salaries. Unlike ordinary employees who focus on a single role, executives must oversee the entire organisation. They analyse financial reports, follow market developments and ensure that all departments work efficiently together. Without their strategic decisions, a company may struggle to survive in a competitive market. During a financial crisis, senior managers must coordinate cost-cutting measures across all departments while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, senior managers deserve higher salaries due to their broader responsibilities, strategic oversight and ability to coordinate entire organisations, whereas ordinary employees focus on limited tasks with lower impact.
