Many people think that children from less privileged backgrounds are often more prepared to face the challenges of adult life than children who grew up in wealthy households. This opinion might have grown out of the fact that rich parents frequently shelter their children, which might deprive them of practical skills. However, I strongly disagree with the above opinion, as it neglects the point that the opportunities which privileged children get are often the final goals for many underprivileged people.
Children from wealthy families get the best amenities in life, since their childhood. They get the best education at top private schools, the best private tutors, the best diet, and even the best entertainment. Furthermore, they might also get the most soughtafter jobs due to their family connections. For example, Indian actors often help their children to easily get lead roles in films, whereas thousands of other less connected people keep day and night just to get an audition for that role.
Although children from rich families do have a high chance of being , with proper education and funding, they can easily overcome the practical difficulties. For instance, Anant Ambani, the son of the richest man in India, has minor speech impediment and an eating disorder. A middleclass person might have many problems in leading a life like that. But due to Anant’s father’s immense wealth, Anant has gotten a very respectable education, which has helped his communication skills, and he has also gotten the best trainers and therapists to treat his health conditions.
In conclusion, it might be true that children from privileged families are more sheltered and hence have a higher chance of lacking practical skills than less privileged children, but they can easily overcome such problems with their ample amount of family funding.
