It is widely believed that technology has made teachers less important in modern education. I go against such a view and will discuss both sides in this essay.
On the one hand, technology has altered the way that students learn nowadays. First of all, a vast amount of information is always accessible through the internet. Students can quickly look up lessons on Google or Youtube rather than waiting for a teacher. This makes it very convenient for them to study at their own pace. Second, students can practice independently with the aid of numerous contemporary apps and AI tools. For instance, there are numerous English apps that can instantly check for grammatical and pronunciation errors. Some people believe that teachers are no longer necessary in the classroom because of how intelligent and user-friendly these tools are.
On the other hand, because of the human connection, I still think that teachers are very important. Information can be provided by a computer, but it cannot motivate students or comprehend their emotions. For example, if a student is bored or depressed, a teacher can support them and advise them to keep trying. This is just not something that machines can do. Additionally, we learn how to act and collaborate with others at school. Teachers teach us how to be honest, respect others, and work well in groups. We can only learn these social skills from a real person, not a screen, and they are crucial for our future.
In conclusion, I personally go against the view of technology replacing teachers. While computers are great for finding information, they cannot replace the care and moral guidance of a teacher. In my opinion, technology is just a tool to help, but the teacher will always be the most important part of education.
