There is no doubt that these days many people believe countries with long average working hours does economically thrives, however at the cost of suffering a negative social consequences. In my opinion, I strongly agree with this notion and my opinion will be discussed in further paragraphs with a suitable conclusion.

supporting my agreement to the given notion, I firmly believe that working till late hours can cause a lot of problems with mental and physical health of workers. For example, they can suffer from stress, anxiety, and depression from work overloads with the long hours. Thus, consequentely leads the workers to resign, and even suicide, like many cases in Japan, where many Japanese employees can be heavy alcoholics and have suicided tendencies.

Secondly, there is no denying the fact long hours of work helps the country’s economy thrive, as a result attracts a lot of foreign businesses. However, it can be the opposite in the case of attracting foreign working force. To cite an example, an American employe cannot work in the same condition of Japanese working culture, because it might seem too difficult and exhausting, coming from a flexible and easy working environment.

As a conclusion, although long working hours help the boost countries economically, the downside and the consequences of working hours can over turn the benefits of it. As a result, causes the working force to abandon the positions, lead to serious health problems. Thus, having short flexible hours is more beneficial. And I believe the aforementioned points are strongly supporting my view point.
