I partly agree with this view, as while traditions are significant, preserving them without considering modern values and practical limitation is unrealistic.
On the one hand, preserving cultural heritage is essensial for maintaining a sense of identity and continuity. Traditions help people understand their history and pass cultural values from one generation to the next. In addition, traditional festivals and historical sities promote social cohesion by bringing communities together. From an economic perspective, cultural heritage also attracts tourists, which can contribute to national development and create employment opportunities.
On the other hand, the idea of preserving traditions at all cost has several drawbacks. Some traditional practices are outdated and may conflict with modern principles such as equality and human rights. Moreover, maintaining historical buildings or cultural events often requires substantial financial invesrtment, which governments may need to ptioritize for essential services like healthcare and education. Therefore, blindly preserving all traditions can slow social progress and place unnecessary burdens on society.
To conclude, although cultural heritage should be protected and respected, it should not be preserved at all costs. Traditions must be allowed to evolve and adapt to modern values so that they reamin meaningful and beneficial in contemporary society.
