One of the biggest risks I’ve taken recently was moving away from my family to pursue my university studies in another city. I used to live with my family in a quiet countryside town. While it wasn’t very exciting, it was a place filled with love where I always felt safe and comfortable.
After finishing high school, I moved to Ho Chi Minh City. This was the first time I had ever lived so far from home. At first, I struggled with homesickness and fatigue. The city was fast-paced and noisy, a stark contrast to my peaceful hometown. Without my brother by my side, I had to navigate everything alone, making the adjustment quite challenging and honestly, a bit confusing.
However, after a few months, things started to improve. I learned how to manage my time, cook for myself, and handle daily life with greater independence. Along the way, I made some wonderful new friends like Huong and Hoa, and even found a second family in Hoa, Han, and Van Anh. Their support helped me feel happier and more connected.
Sometimes, when I reflect on my journey, I feel proud of myself for taking that risk. It pushed me out of my comfort zone, allowed me to grow, and instilled a greater sense of responsibility for my own life.
