The debate over whether having one common language for all nations is still ongoing. However, other people’s preferring one language for whole world would be right decision but on the other hand, commonly spoken language would have some disadvantages.
By the way, it is already getting into one language, which is English language spoken by 2 billion speakers from around the world. The fact that only 400 million speakers is native speakers, and English language is the most popular language on Earth. Having just single language for all nations might be good, but from time to time, it can lead to losing one’s culture soaked for thousands of years.
First of all, losing language of one country can be sign of dying country. Because language is mirror of nation’s history, culture and traditions. By having one language for all society of course can be more capable and more facilities among different cultures. Communication becomes easier and better with having global language. On the other point, language has always been the focal point of cultural identity. It dismantles communication barriers and offers a gateway to understanding one another’s cultures.
In conclusion, a global language has disadvantages and advantages. Its strong points include to facilitating communication between different cultures and paving the way for greater international trade between countries. At this situation the question remains: Will English continue as the world’s global language or other language will take its place?
