Professionals such as doctors and teachers from underdeveloped countries are leaving to work abroad due to a phenomena called brain drain. This essay will outline why this is a dangerous issue and list the possible solutions to solve it.
The major problem with the professionals fleeing their country is the fact that they will not contribute directly to their home country. If a nation wants to advance they will need all the human resources they have, but as they are all leaving it will be harder for them to grow, and even will lead to decline especially in poorer countries. The most apparent reason is that a country will have lost its taxpayers, and less tax means less services that are given to the public. Not to mention that the leaving professionals are working in crucial sectors like doctors and teachers. A decline in those sectors will impact the next generation with them having worse health and education.
While it is not an easy task to do, there are several solutions that can be applied to this problem. For the poorer countries, they must first identify why people are leaving in the first place, whether it is the low living standard, security, or political instability and fix it immediately. People are not going to abandon a place they are already comfortable in, thus removing the inconvenience of living is a great start. While for the developed countries, they should track how many people are immigrating there, and apply a strict policy to prevent mass migration as it will lead to more troubles for all parties.
