It is irrefutable that majority of people consume considerably more sugary foods than ever before. While some argue that only governments can mitigate this pressing issue by enforcing strict rules and regulations, others believe that rather than depending on governments, individuals should take various steps to deminish their sugar intake by incorporating zero-percent sugar foods into their diet. However, in my opinion, a balanced approach, where both governments and individuals should assist each other to address this crisis.
According to some, it is solely governments’ responsibility to enforce stringent resulations and policies on the food industry to produce food with significantly less sugar, which can help people to alleviate their sugar consumption. Governments can certainly launch nationwide awareness campaigns through social media and local events to educate individuals about sugary foods’ detrimental effect on health and society in general. Moreover, promoting the benefits of less sugar consumption would not only help individuals, but would also enhance society’ well-being by encouraging people to be more healthier than ever before.
Some people believe that individuals should rather take several effective measures to limit their sugar consumption. Although strict regulations on the food manufacturing industry can relatively reduced people’s sugar intake, individuals can easily lower their sugar intake by incorporating healthy recipes with proper excercise into their daily routine. For example, in Canada, a significant amount of people have been using sweetner instead of white sugar in their coffee and tea due to the fact that white sugar can be pernicious to their health.
In conclusion, since governments can implement stringent measures to alleviate people’s sugar consumption, some people opine that it is governments duty to eliminate sugary foods. However, many believe it is rather an individual’s responsibility to reduce their sugar consumption.
