Education is invaluable in our lives. I firmly believe that education should be free for everyone and that it should be funded and managed by the government. Every person has the right to learn, which enables them to support themselves in the future and secure better job opportunities.
Currently, quality education is expensive. In many countries, education has been privatized, with only a few schools offering free education funded by the government. For example, in the Philippines, there are both private and public schools. Public schools receive funding from the government, while private schools are financed by private organizations. The issue with public schools is that they rely on government funding, which is often insufficient to provide adequate facilities and quality education to children. However, public education is available at no cost to those who cannot afford private schooling. Families that can afford to send their children to private schools enjoy access to better educational resources, facilities, and a more conducive learning environment. The government needs to address this disparity to ensure that everyone has access to quality education along with good facilities and an appropriate study environment for children.
On the other hand, the privatization of education does have economic benefits. World-class universities located in developed nations serve as examples; students who can afford the tuition fees at these institutions typically have better job prospects. Furthermore, these private universities allocate substantial budgets to market their programs internationally, attracting wealthy students from abroad. This practice, however, creates an economic imbalance between those who can afford quality education and those who cannot.
In conclusion, education is something that everyone should value. All individuals have a role to play in advocating for change. If we collectively voice our right to free education, we can bridge the gap between rich and poor by ensuring that everyone has access to quality education.
