Many employers seek the personal information of a candidate during recruitment process. Some people think that, this is an important information during this process and some are not. I believe that, asking personal information is useful to the employer for selecting the right candidate.
To begin with, some people shows their dissatisfaction on providing personal information to the recruiter. The main reason behind this is, they think that these information is not at all relevant for the job requirements. Relevant skills are enough to get the job. They expects the company should only check the information which ever is relevant to the technical requirements. For instance, during the technical job interview process, recruiter ask they hobbies, their martial status and family details. They think that, it is confidential information, and not necessary to share this for a technical requirement.
On the other hand, some believe that these information are very much important to understand the candidate perspectives, expectations, working pattern, and also their availability. My opinion is also the same. For Instance, if a married person is trying for a job, they will have certain concerns like relocation, working hours availability, relocation expenses. This can create an impact in the job to some extent. In addition, understanding the hobbies about a candidate can give us some clarity on how effective the candidate can work under pressure. These are the reasons, it is good provide our personal information to company during assessment stages.
To conclude, some times the recruiter expects candidate to provide their personal information such as family details and hobbie. Some people are not okay with this approach. on the other side, others thinks that these information is very useful. My opinion is that, whenever there is a necessady, every company should ask the employee to provide these information during recruitment process.
